7MKI Military Mountain Kingdom Influencers

By Colonel Linda R. Herbert (United States Army Retired)

The 7 Mountain Kingdom Influencers (7MKI) are those who believe they are called to be used by God to influence their respective mountain (kingdom) of society. In Matthew 24:14, Jesus said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come,” so that we can fulfill Revelation 11:15, “The Kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.”

In 1975, the Lord spoke to several Christian leaders and told them that if we are to change the heart of a nation to Christ then we must impact the 7 mountains of culture in that nation which include: Church, Family, Education, Business, Government, Arts and Entertainment, and Media. Consequently, the vision of Bishop Bill Hamon is to raise up those who believe they are called to impact societal mountains, and in doing so, he believes that people need to be able to hear the voice of the Lord in their sphere of influence.  To fulfil this vision, the leaders of the 7MKI network anoint those that desire to be members of the network and commission them to their mountain of influence.

The military mountain is a specialty mountain of kingdom influence within the realm of Government. It is for those who are active duty military members, reservists, national guardsman and retirees of all services and also for civilians who feel called to influence the military mountain for Christ. This mountain is not just for those who are military, but rather for all those whose heart is touched to support the military. For those who are military, influence may be a daily walk with the Lord that is manifested through the incorporation and actions based on Godly principles; for those who are civilians – it may be a continual prayer of intercession and expression of support for our nation’s Commander in Chief and the nation’s defense structure. Thus, military mountain influencer’s are those who support our nations’ military through intercession and also for those who through their daily walk with God will influence this sphere of society for Christ.

Military mountain influencers are relevant in today’s society just as they were in Biblical times of Jesus. The Bible is replete with references to soldiers, soldiering, and armies, and it is noteworthy that the first gentile recorded to receive salvation in the Bible was Cornelius, the Centurion of Caesarea (Acts 10:1-48). The Bible describes Cornelius as a devout man (Acts 10:2) who was highly regarded and consequently had significant impact on all those around him to include those in his military command. Today, military mountain members can also have significant impact through leading and influencing with godly actions, Christian ethics and steadfast intercession.

In Timothy 2:3 the Bible reminds us that “we must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” The Bible also speaks of warfare “that no one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life that he may please him who enlisted as a soldier” (2 Timothy 2:4). And, in 2 Corinthians 10:4, the Bible says “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…” Consequently, in consonance with the theme of the military mountain, those who believe they are called to this mountain are soldiers in the natural and in the spiritual realms. As soldiers in the Army of the Lord the goal is to influence the military mountain for Christ and take it back for God.

Kingdom influencers have the ability to cause the truth of Jesus Christ to become known in their respective mountains of influence. From my own experience of over 30 years of active military duty with the United States Army, I know that our actions and beliefs influence all those we encounter. Our leadership in every forum is a reflection of our internal values and beliefs. In turn, we are also a reflection of Jesus Christ as we demonstrate and lead with godly principles and righteous actions. For this reason, effective kingdom influence as soldiers in the Army of the Lord requires an understanding of who we are in Christ, that we are sons and daughters of the most High God – our spiritual Commander in Chief. And, as soldiers in the Army of the Lord, we are not afraid nor dismayed because of the great multitude of adversaries or obstacles in our mountain for the battle is the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). And the Bible states that, “…He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (I John 4:4).

Our military is employed around the world in many dangerous locations and interacts with many diverse people and nation states. I urge those of you who feel called to the military mountain to join with us as a team and be one’s will not only influence this mountain for Christ, but also be one’s who will intercede to take this mountain back for Christ.
